基于MATLAB的汽车牌照图像处理识别方法研究
摘要
随着科技水平的不断提升,尤其是在图形图像处理方面的处理手段日新月异,现在的车牌识别能力越来越强,对识别的要求也逐渐加强。高速公路的车牌识别系统由图像获取,图像处理,图像分割,字符识别,数据库管理等几个部分组成,处理识别的能力是关键。汽车牌照处理的目的在于正确获取整个图像中车牌的区域,并识别出车牌号。
本文主要介绍一种汽车牌照图像自动识别处理的方法,牌照自动识别是一项利用车辆的动态视频或静态图像进行牌照号码、牌照颜色自动识别的模式识别技术,该软件的关键是图像处理,车牌提取,车牌字符分割,车牌字符识别等几部分。
基于上述基础,本文在MATLAB平台下编写了汽车牌照识别程序。首先进行图像预处理,包括图像灰度化处理,二值化,图像边缘提取。然后进行车牌提取,包括图片颜色标记,计算车牌长宽,计算垂直和水平投影,旋转车牌角度。最后经过去除边框,字符分割,统一字符大小,与预存的字符模块进行比较,识别输出最小误差的车牌字符。

Research on License plate recognition (based on MATLAB)
Abstract
With the developing of technology, especially on image processing, license plate recognition capability is needed to be strengthened. The recognition system of license plate is constituted of image acquisition, image processing, image segmentation, and character recognition and database administration. The aim of vehicle license recognition is to catch the correct license plate images of the whole region, and then get the numbers.
In this paper, the recognition system of license plate is mainly introduced in MATLAB. License plate recognition is the mode identification technology, which bases on dynamic video and still images of cars to process the plate number and color. The key technologies are image processing, license plate extraction, character segmentation and character recognition.
So the program for license plate recongnition is developed under the environment of MATLAB. Firstly, image pre-processing is asked, including image gray-scale processing, image binarization, edge diction. Secondly, mark the colors, calculate the plate’s length, width, vertical and horizontal projection, whirl the plate to extract the plate. Finally, wipe off the frame of the plate, cut the plate in a standard form, compare the characters with the ones prestored, recognize
