对高速公路护拦板的要求，随着我国高速公路建设的发展而日益增多。由于防护拦板安置在露天，受气候及环境的影响，因此防护拦板的表面涂装技术要求较高，使表面涂膜有良好的耐候性、抗腐蚀等性能，外观具有理想的装饰性。我国高速公路防护拦板以热镀锌板为多，其外观颜色单一，而耐候性及抗腐蚀等性能均低于粉末静电喷涂板的性能，而且粉末静电喷涂工艺的无污染、粉末颜色的多样化更是其他涂覆工艺所不能比拟的。目前国外已大量使用粉末静电喷涂防护拦板。
