Their encouragement is very important to the pletion of this thesis. ii Abstract Language isa means munication, and listening is an indispensable part munication . It is also considered as one of the most difficulties to conquer for students learning English . With the development of modern E nglish teaching, more and more educators have pointed out the practice use of prehension so that they pay more attention to developing the students ’ listening ability in their E nglish teaching. W hat ’s more , listening takes about 30 per c ent of the total marks in students ’ middle school entrance examination. Asa teacher, we should try our best to provide our students with lots of listening skills and useful ways to improve their listening.
