Human development or developmental psychology analyzes these changes and what they mean for the overall health of an individual. ing from different fields of psychology, such as social psychology, ecological psychology, and cognitive psychology have long tried to understand many aspects of human development. My life exemplifies some of the concepts used in such human development theories. This individual development narrative makes use of the ideas in human development psychology to better understand the meanings of my actions and thoughts in different stages of my life. I was born into a middle class family in Singapore. My father is puter programmer while my mother is a homemaker. Since my parents didn’t want any more kids, I am the only child in my family. Growing up, I was almost spoiled because my parents, especially my father, gave everything to me in terms of material things. My mother though, is a very kind and mild-tempered woman who municates with me and gives me good advice on all aspects of life. The early stage of my life is a good point of analysis using Erik Erikson’s psychosocial development theory. Erikson conceived of eight stages of
