Reflection for Week #3 In Guiyang, Guizhou, China The weeks here in Guiyang are just flying by. We are already finished our third week and wow, have we ever seen some amazing things in such a short amount of time. We have made such great new friends and have done many different things that we will remember for the rest of our lives. This week we continued with our amazing classes that the teachers assigned for us and we finally got our classes from Canada working again. We got to experience a class with Fu Chen Jing on Guizhou’s Diet Culture but she also included other cuisines from different provinces in China which I really enjoyed. We learnt the names from all the dishes we have already tried and we also found some new ones that we would like to try. It has been such a great experience for me to be able to see all the different types of food offered here because I have a cultural background as well. My dad is Portuguese so I am used to very spicy food so it wasn’t a shock when I came here that all the food was spicy. There are some things here that I don’t enjoy the taste of but for the most part I like a lot of them and at least trying to stay open minded to trying all the different things thatGuizhou and Chinese Culture has to offer.
