Simulation of Soft-Starting Control System for Asynchronous Motor Based on MATLAB/SIMULINK

Key words: asynchronous motor; soft-starting; PID control; simulation Abstract: Considering the very large starting current brought by the asynchronous motors when being started, a soft-starting control method for asynchronous motors based on PID control theory was presented. The simulation model of the closed loop control was built based on MATLAB/ SIMULINK and simulation was carried out. The simulation results expatiate that starting current of the asynchronous motor is limited in valid by using the soft-starting method based on PID control, so the PID control method is correct and valid.
