限制性定语从句和非限制性定语从句

(1)限制性定语从句常紧接在它所修饰的先行词后,主、从句间没有逗号分开;而非限制性定语从句与先行词之间常用逗号分开,并且as所引导的非限制性定语从句还可放在主句之前。
His friend who works in Beijing visited him yesterday.(限制性定语从句)
His father,who works in Beijing,returned yesterday.(非限制性定语从句)

(2)当先行词是专有名词或其前面有物主代词和指示代词修饰时,其后的定语从句通常是非限制性的。
