Abstract
With the development of information technique applied in the field of education, the English teaching and learning is facing a serious challenge from society. At the same time, modern education technology offers new chances for the improvement of English teaching efficiency. The rapid development and widespread application of multimedia technology has opened up a new field for multimedia technology assisted English teaching. However, currently the study about the application of multimedia to English teaching in junior high schools parably backward, especially in oral English teaching.
The thesis focuses on the study of “The Influence of Multimedia technology on Students’ oral proficiency”. And the author conducts a one-semester experiment on the topic. The experiment was conducted in a junior high school in Panjin City Liaoning Province. 61 Junior Grade Two students are involved in the experiment. They are divided into two natural classes. One was an experimental group consists of 31 students and the other is a control group consists of 30 students. The experimental group is assigned to use the multi-media teaching method in oral classes while the control group sticks to the traditional ones.
