写作的题型为100字的小作文(应用文)和160-200字的大作文(看图说话、提纲式说明文或议论文)。小作文考查书信体的可能性最大。大作文仍有可能沿用看图说话。
要注意的是,新大纲对考生的语言技能的评价目标方面的要求有一条“4)根据写作目的和特定读者,恰当选用语域”,这次在脚注里增加了对“语域”的解释:“语域”指在书面和口语表达中根据不同的交际对象,所采用的话语方式,即正式、一般、非正式的话语。
(说明文和议论文)里,
要求用比较严肃严谨的书面体。尽量避免口语化,如don’t, I’m 等。
(应用文)根据不同的交际对象,所采用的话语方式,即正式、一般、非正式的话语。如果题目要求是宣传性质的海报,完全可以使用口语体。其余的应用文小作文,大多数还是要求比较严肃严谨的书面体。
书信类 书信是一种最常见的应用文。它包括祝贺信、介绍信、邀请信、申请信、询问信、致谢信、约会信、道歉信、推荐信、投诉信等十多类。英文书信包括信头、正文和信尾。

齐头式与缩进式。前一种所有的段落顶格开始,正文的段落之间空一行。缩进式所有段落空四至五个字母开始,正文段落之间不空行。

位于信纸的右上角,地址在上,日期在下,中间可间隔一行。英文地址书写顺序与中文相反,所以应该是从小到大的顺序:门牌号、街道名、区名、市( 州/ 县) 、国名。
