Life
Born in St. Paul,Minnesota on September24,1896.
Had an expensive education in private schools, entering Princeton in 1913.
Due to illness and neglect of academic study, he left the university in 1917 without graduation.
He joined the army, meeting Zelda Sayre -the daughter of an Alabama Supreme Court Associate Justice.
“I have fallen in love with a whirlwind,”declared the young lieutenant Fitzgerald, having met Zelda Sayre at a country club. It was in the summer of 1918 in Montgomery, Alabama.
In order to convince Zelda to marry him, he moved to New York City hoping to launch a career in advertising lucrative enough to support her.
During that time,he began to work on his first novel, This side of Paradise. Published in 1920, it was an instant ess and brought him fortune and fame. He said that when the news arrived in the mail: "I left my job. I paid my debts, bought a suit of clothes and woke in the morning to a world of promise. "
Zelda: the prototype of a series of rich and beautiful women who feature prominently in his fiction.
The young couple frequently went abroad and lived extravagantly a luxurious and flamboyant life.
To keep earning enough money, Fitzgerald wrote short stories and novels at a rapid speed.
Zelda was a natural beauty, with red-gold hair, fine features, and a graceful body. But what distinguished her from other young women was her spirit - playful, often rebel
