内容提要:《吕氏春秋》,成书于战国末年,班固注:“秦相吕不韦集智略士作。”《吕氏春秋》虽名为“春秋",《汉书·艺文志》将之著录于“子部杂家类",定为子书。自《汉志》以后,《隋书·经籍志》、《旧唐书·经籍志》、《新唐书·艺文志》直至清《四库全书》以及《郡斋读书志》、《直斋书录解题》等公私书目也将《吕氏春秋》列入“子部杂家类”。这是因为,《吕氏春秋》故事虽涉及众多历史人物,但是与历史有别,是对历史的改编加工,借以表达自己的政见,即采用了寓言的形式说明道理。《孔丛子·执节》论及《虞氏春秋》时说:“虞卿著书,名日《春秋》。魏齐日:‘子无然也。《春秋》,孔圣所以名经,今子之书,大抵谈说而已。M《吕氏春秋》与此相似,也属于“谈说",是用寓言的形式来说明道理,因此与经、史有别。本文主要着眼于四个方面的内容:一是探讨《吕氏春秋》寓言的含义,尤其是寓言与历史故事的区别。二是研究《吕氏春秋》寓言的取材、创作及政治思想。根据题材来源,可以将《吕氏春秋》寓言分为四种类型:源于历史故事、源于神话故事、源于民间故事、源于诸子与士的创作。《吕氏春秋》通过寓言寄寓了深刻的政治思想,形成了区别于先秦诸子寓言的显著特征,即鲜明的政治性和现实性。三是探讨《吕氏春秋》寓言的结构特征和叙事特征。四是探讨《吕氏春秋》的寓言观点,包括寓言人物的虚构、寓言的功用。第五部分研究《吕氏春秋》的文学影响及杂家与小说之间的关系。《吕氏春秋》是杂家,其加工改编了大量历史故事、民间故事、诸子故事作为寓言,叙事方式较前有所突破,客观反映出当时史学、子学向文学的转变观念。
