THE APPLICATION OF THE LEAN-SIX SIGMA IN THE PRODUCTION OF THE AUTOMOTIVE SEALS
ABSTRACT
The Thesis firstly introduces the origin, characteristics of lean production and six-Sigma methods and the improvement and saving when using them separately, in the mean time, also points out their restriction when they are not used together,from
there, introduces“Lean- Six Sigma ”method which bined them together and is
being widely promoted both in western countries and China, then introduces the application situation of lean- six Sigma at home and abroad and the problems of the lean-six sigma application currently exists in Chinese enterprises.
In the Third chapter, the thesis starts to introduce the Lean-Six sigma methold’s application on the GMX353 automotive seals in Cooper Standard Wuhu Plant, firstly uses the Value stream mapping to analyze the process from customer order to the product delivery, identifies the improvement aspects, then analyze the cycle time of each work station in the production process, makes the conclusion that the cycle time of the stations are not balanced, needs to be adjusted and eliminate the bottlenecks in the whole process so that the cycle times can be balanced, according to the analysis of both value stream mapping and cycle time study, makes the improvement action plan and implements it, finally, using the value stream mapping and cycle time study to analyzes the improved production process again and summarizes the result.
From the chapter 4 to 6, the thesis collects the data of the production and scrap data, uses the histogram chart; Trend chart and Pareto chart to analyze these data, finds out the material and production parameters which cause the production unstable, then uses the production data to have the multiple linear regression and finds the the best parameters in theory, after that, do the DOE to verify the parameters and adjusts to the best parameter in practical, in the chapter seven, have the Statistical process control a
