Abstract:These days, more and more people are engaged in interpreting as the trend of globalization goes on. However, it is not easy for us Chinese to tell all those differences between British English and American English, especially under the pressure of an interpreting task. In this thesis, parative study is made about the differences between two branches of English―British English and American English in many aspects including pronunciation, spelling of words, word-formation, choice of words and grammar. In this way, we can better understand two branches of English and handle our accent in interpreting.
