Input Device
Input devices are hardware used to provide input to puter. The purpose of input devices is to collect data and convert it into a form suitable puter processing.
The widely used input devices include keyboards, mice, touch screens, scanners, and audio input devices.
Keyboard
A keyboard is an input device.
Mouse
A mouse (plural mouses, mice, or mouse devices) is a pointing device that functions by detecting two-dimensional motion relative to its supporting surface.
There are two basic types of mice:
Mechanical mouse.
Optical mouse
Touch Screen
A touch screen (See Figure 3-4.) is a type of display screen that has a touch-sensitive transparent panel covering the screen.
Scanner
puting, a scanner is a device that optically scans images, printed text, handwriting, or an object, and converts it to a digital image.
Audio input device
Audio input devices allow a user to send audio signals to puter for processing, recording, or carrying mands.
There are two major categories of audio input devices:
Microphone.
MIDI keyboard or other digital musical instrument.
