一、测试方法
研究生入学考试英语阅读理解题要求考生能读懂选自各类书籍和报刊的不同类型的文字材料(生词量不超过所读材料总量的3%), 还应该读懂与本人学****或工作有关的文献、技术说明书和产品说明等。根据材料,考生应能1. 理解文章主旨要义; 2. 理解文章中的具体信息; 3. 理解文章中的概念性意义; 4. 进行有关判断、推理和引申; 5. 根据上下文推测词义; 6. 理解文章总体结构以及上下文之间的关系; 7. 理解作者的意图、观点和态度; 8. 区分论点和论据。
英语阅读理解的试题具体从两个方面来测试考生的阅读理解能力。第一部分测试考生对文章内容的理解能力,这部分内容又分A,B,C三节进行,共30小题,每题2分,总分为60分。A节20小题,共有四篇短文,总计约1,600个英语词,主要测试考生理解文章主旨要义,具体信息,概念性含义,进行有关判断,推理和引申,推测作者的意图、观点和态度以及根据上下文推测词义的能力。例如:
