This is the first step toward understanding others’ belief system s, which can lead to tolerance a nd accep tance of each i ndividual’s own belief system . An electronic survey of 44 questions was conducted as a m eans to collect data for this study. T h e survey w a s distributed to 464 subjects whose nam e s were found on the UW -Stout em ail directory. A total of 61 res ponses were received. The response rate was 13 percent. Survey resu lts were co llected by th e researcher an d exam ined using percen tages, m eans and s t andard deviation. It was concl uded through this survey that the respondents iii are aware of their own belief sys t ems. This wa s determ ined by the f act that the m a jority of respondents did not answer “don’t know” to the m a jority of questions. Although most are aware of their own belief sys t ems, they ar e n o t as aware that ot her populations hold equal valid belief system s. It was
