1. Lead-in :
We have learned many adjectives,
but do you know how to use to describe
people and things? Think about it, and
you can look at Page12 to consult it. I’ll
see who is clever.
2. Presentation
① We use adjectives to describe people and things, which puts before a noun or after a link verb and look at the examples on the book.
② Analysis, “She has short hair”, “hair” is the noun. “short” is the adjective, according to the rule, put the adjective before the noun, so we put short before hair. Ask a student to analysis the second sentence.
③ Look at the sentence “Her hair is short”, before the adjectives is a linking verb. We can use adjective after these linking verbs. Such as : be , become, feel, get, grow……
④ Call you to analysis the sentence “The cat is lazy.”
3. Consolidation:
Do part A on Page12.
Remember that put an adjective before a noun or after a link verb, then find the subject and predicate to make sentence. Read them and translate them.
B Comparatives
-in :
We learned to use the adjectives to
describe things. But if we compare two
things, how do we say? And you want to
compare with your friends, how do you
say?

A has long hair.
B has long hair, too.
→
A has longer hair than B .
Work out the rule
(1)when we compare two things , we use
comparatives, and we put “than” after the
comparatives, we usually add “er” to short
adjectives and use “more” for long adjectives.
. She is shorter than I am.
My book is more interesting than his book.
(2)There are also some other rules. If the word:
a. Ends with “e”, we add “r” directly.
b. Ends in a consonant +“y”, we exchange “y” to “i” , add “e r”.
c. End in a vowel + a consonant, double the consonant, add “e r”.
d. Special adjective,
good---better, bad---worse.
Please look at the table on Page 13 carefully.
