What is critical illness ?
A condition where life cannot be sustained without invasive therapeutic interventions
Characterized by acute loss of physiologic reserve

Dysfunction of one or an systems : hemodynamic insufficiency, respiratory failure , abnormalities of fluid and electrolytes
