Ⅰ.听写(Part Ⅰ: Dictation)
: (a)能在全面理解内容的基础上逐字逐句写出所听材料。 (b)拼写和标点符号正确无误，错误率不超过8%。 (c)考试时间15分钟。
: 本部分为主观试题，所听材料共念四遍。第一遍用正常语速朗读，录音语速为每分钟120个单词，让学生听懂材料大意，第二三遍朗读时意群、分句和句子之间留出约15秒的空隙(听写材料大约150个词左右，为一段或多段，共分15个意群，每个意群可能是词组、分句或单句)，让学生书写，第四遍再用正常语速朗读，全文听完后，有两分钟的复查时间,让学生检查。直到录音中听到This is the end of dictation表示这一部分结束。

: 测试学生听力理解能力拼写熟练程度以及正确运用标点符号的能力。
: (a)题材广泛体裁多样。 (b)听写材料难度以不超过《大纲》规定为准。 (c)听写材料长度约150个单词。

TEM4 的听写部分要求学生在15 分钟的时间之内写出长度约为150 个词左右的一篇文章, 要求逐字逐句写出, 错误率不超过8%。文章通常分为15 块( chunks) , 即15 个意群( sense groups) , 按照意群给分。以2006 年听写的意群划分为例:

TEM4 的听写部分总分为15 分, 每一个意群1分, 最多只扣1 分, 重复错误仅扣一次。在最后记分时, 分, 则舍去。错误共分为两类:小错误(minor mistakes) 和大错误(major mistakes), 分。小错误有:
A 单词拼错1-2个字母, 如:
Potential → pertential; imagine → imargine; victims → victorms
B. 标点符号错误、大小写错误、限定词错误, 如:Scientists working around →scientists, working
around; well-organized, information-rich→ well- organized information-rich.
