1. We can wear bicycle helmets when riding.

2) when riding=when we ride，当主从句的
主语一致时，从句可用连词+分词的形式
代替，复合句变为简单句。又如：
You must be careful when you cross the
road (=when crossing the road).

他一边走路，一边跟朋友交谈。
