Review on the Translation of Movie Titles
Abstract: Translation is an art, as well as the translation of movie titles. Malcolm Cowley says “Translation is an art that involves the re-creation of a work in another language for readers with a different background” (陈德彰). There is no denying that the translation of movie titles is one kind of translation, belonging to the overall scope of a translation, but it still has its uniqueness. As an audiovisual art, movie is one of the most influential mass media, it follows and reflects people’s life and it is a product of culture.
