，为惠州西湖的水环境和景观的综合整治描绘了秀丽的蓝图。
三、工程实施情况
（一）示范工程
为验证研究技术的适用性和技术的应用效果，2004年市政府委托中科院南京地理与湖泊研究所、南京中科水治理工程有限公司、暨南大学和惠州市环境科学研究所等单位，实施了西湖生态修复的示范工程。示范区位于元妙观前西湖宾馆旁，水面面积11000m2，该工程从2004年11月底开始进行前期湖底地形改造，2005年1月种植水草，5月基本完工完成示范区水生态系统的恢复，示范区基本形成了健康良性水生生态系统，示范区内水体透明度由修复前的小于35cm达到目前的80~90cm，多种污染物指标都显著下降，水质净化效果良好，与示范区外的西湖主体水质形成鲜明对比，目前水质已达到国家地表水Ⅱ类，景观娱乐用水B类标准，为下一步西湖的大规模生态修复积累了经验。
（二）中试工程
生态修复工程示范区取得初步成功之后，为进一步验证生态修复可行性，为整个西湖修复积累经验、提供技术支持，2007年市政府委托
