Advances in Environmental Research 4Ž. 2000 225᎐231 Analysis anophosphorus pesticides in water samples using a continuous membrane permeation extractor Ziming Sun, James K. HardyU Department of Chemistry, The Uni¨ersity of Akron, Akron, OH 44325-3601, USA Accepted 7 May 2000 Abstract A membrane permeation method used for the determination anophosphorus pesticidesŽ. OPPs at trace levels in water is described. OPPs were collected on Tenax-TA polymeric resin after permeating through a silicone polycarbonate membrane. OPPs were then stripped by thermal desorption and directed into a gas chromatograph using a helium stream for quantitative analysis. A linear relationship was found between the mass collected on Tenax-TA and the product of external concentration and exposure time. The method detection limitsŽ. MDL for OPPs were ᎐ grl with the relative standard deviationsŽ. . less than 20%. This method provides an easy, low-cost way of preconcentrating samples. It eliminates the involvement of anic solvent, and has the potential for automated on-site analysis of OPPs in water. ᮊ 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
