Unit 4 The First Period (Section A 1a—2c）
Teaching Aims and Demands：
New words and expressions:
theater, comfortablreen。 Explain it and practice more. Until the students can retell it fluently without looking at the screen.
Step II. Presentation
Show some pictures about the movie theater to study the new words。
Then compare pictures so that the students can understand the superlative degrees.
Talk about what kinds of things are important or not important. Finish Activity 1a.
Ask the students to share their ideas and tell the reasons. They can have different answers。
Step III。 Listening。
Ask the students to read the instructions by themselves aloud. Make sure that they can catch the main idea of each item.
Listen to the tape and match the statements with the movie theaters。 Ask the students to write them down.
Listen again and try to repeat the conversation。
Step IV。 Free talk.
Show sample conversations on the screen。 Teach the phrase “be close to”。 Get the class pay attention to the words “have” or “be”。
Pair work. Talk about the movie theaters they know。
Step V。 Listening (2a&2b)
Read the instructions to the students， and ask them to pay attention to the two questions on the survey。
Listen to the tape and circle the boy’s correct answers.
Check the results. Finish 2a.
Go through the statements in 2b。 Ask some students to translate them into Chinese。
