caseofdisputearealltakenfromBSEN10080:.
BSEN10080:doesnotdefinesteelgradesortechnicalclasses,andrequires
thattechnicalclassesshouldbedefinedinaccordancewithBSEN10080:,
byspecifiedvaluesofRe,Rm/Re,Agt,Re,act/Re,nom(whereappropriate),fatigue
strength,bendperformance,weldability,bondstrength,tolerancesand

requirementsofBSEN10080:.
Thethreegradesinthisstandardalsoconformtothethreerecommended
ductilityclassesofBSEN1992-1-1:,althoughthefatiguerequirementsand
thefatiguetestconditionsareretainedfromthepreviousversionofthisstandard.
TheonlyexceptiontothisisforgradeB500Ainsizesbelow8mm,wherethe
ductilityrequirementsspecifiedarebelowthoseofBSEN1992-1-1:.
BSEN10080:containsaninformativeAnnexZA,whichdescribeshowthat

inassessingproductsforanECcertificateofconformity,andassucharenot

materialsproducedtoitshouldmeettherequirementsforCEmarking.

InBSEN10080,theterms“rod”and“wire”areusedtodescribereinforcingsteel
,thesetermshavenotbeenincludedtoavoidthepotential
forconfusion,particularlywithwireproducedtoBS4482.
Thisstandardcomesintoeffecton1January.
Inthepreviousrevisionofthisstandard,bondwasspecifiedbymeansofa
projectedribarea,withapull-outtestspecifiedasanalternativemeansof
demonstratingcompliancewiththebondrequirementsofBS8110-
revision,,a
beamtestisprovidedinAnnexA,whichmaybeusedtodemonstrate

demonstratecompliancewithBS8110-1,thenthepull-outtestmaybeused.
Thispull-outtestalternativemayonlybeappliedtosteelsofgradeB500A.
