主谓一致原则
一、语法一致原则
主语和谓语通常是在语法形式上取得一致,即主语是单数形式时,谓语动词也采用单数形式;主语是复数时,谓语动词也采用复数形式。
and Tim are twins.
Both my mother and my father are engineers.
当and和both…and…链接两个或多个名词作主语时,谓语动词用复数形式。
不定代词做主语时,谓语动词用单数。

3. Each boy was given a gift.
each, each..and, each.., every..and, every...做主语时,谓语动词用单数形式

二、意义一致原则
意义一致又叫概念一致,即谓语动词用单数形式还是用复数形式要看主语所表达的概念。
1. The singer and teacher __ going to give us a report.
由and连接两个名字作主语,如果是指同一概念的,则谓语动词用单数形式。
