Study on formulation and preparation of capsaicin niosomes SUN Juan, LONG Xiao-ying(Department of Pharmaceutics, Guangdong College of Pharmacy, Guangzhou 510006, china) ABSTRACT: OBJECTIVE To screen the optimal formulations and preparation of capsaicin niosomes. METHODS capsaicin niosomes were prepared by injection method. Niosomes and unloaded capsaicin were separated by dialysis. Ultraviolet spectrophotometry was used to determine the entrapment efficiency of capsaicin niosomes. The optimal formulations were acquired by the evaluation of the encapsulation efficiencies. Different materials were used during preparation in order to select the best formulations. RESULTS The entrapment efficiency of the optimized formulations were ≥75%. The mean sizes were≤10um with the size distribution of 5~30um. CONCLUSION The entrapment efficiency and particle size of the optimized formulations are satisfactory.
