Abstract
Currently and in general, engineering education in the western world is in a time of transition as it is affected by available new facilities provided due to advancement made in the fields of utilizing Information Technology (IT). Both aspects of the engineering practice, industry and academe are now benefiting by utilizing facilities offered by IT. But, as for the disciplines of power engineering, the power system(PS), and power electronics(PE), these are also concurrently affected by other IT enhanced two major motivators. First, the development made in the De-regulation & Re-structuring,(D&R) of Electricity Supply Industry,(ESI), due to undergoing a major change, both technically, and politically. Second, the global demand of the need for exploiting Renewable Energy Technologies,(RETs), aiming at the reductions in the size of both perpetual environmental damage, and the perpetual usage of conventional types of energy resources. It has been concluded by anizations representing both sides of the engineering practice, the industrial fields, and the academic media that ESI of the 21st century will pletely different to that of the last Century.
