PASSIVE ACOUSTIC MONITORING TECHNIQUES
Passive acoustic monitoring methods can be used in process analysis for the monitoring of particulate systems, . high shear granulation.
However, in many cases, the information content of the signal is limited due to the use of a resonant transducer and/or conversion of the signal to a root mean-square-value RMS.

PRELIMINARY EXPERIMENTS
At Strathclyde, a broadband piezoelectric transducer, attached to the external wall of a 1L jacketed glass reactor, has been used to monitor a model heterogeneous reaction.
