The oral classes
Stage 1: Warming-up Activities (1 hour)
Aim: arouse students’ interest in the topic to be discussed and prepare students for further understanding of the text
Group work: Make a guess at the general idea of the text using only the title.
Questions for thought and discussion: Listen to a short passage carefully and then answer the following questions (see the textbook).
Enriching your vocabulary on the topic:
Read the sentences carefully and guess the meaning of the boldfaced term in each sentence according to the context and your own experiences. You may discuss it with your partner or refer to the dictionary at the end of the exercise.
