The topic for this chapter is newspapers .The main passage is a report of a meeting at school . Some students want to publish their own newspapers, and they meet to arrange some of the details including who should have the main jobs. The students newspaper topic provides a context for other tasks within this chapter.

Thus, in the Listening section, we have a proof-reading task, with students listening and correcting mistakes in an article. Some of the exercise in the Language section refer to newspapers and a visit to a newspaper office. The main Speaking task is to arrange an interview. In Using English, students learn about note-taking and practise on a passage about newspapers. Finally, the Writing task is to complete a second report to the principal about the progress of the students newspaper.
