教育的社会属性
①教育具有永恒性。教育是人类所特有的社会现象，它是一个永恒的范畴。只要人类社会存在，教育就存在。教育的永恒性源于教育的两大职能：一是使新生一代适应现存的生产力，作为生产斗争的工具；二是使新生一代适应现存的生产关系，在阶级社会作为阶级斗争的工具。
②教育具有历史性。教育是一种历史现象，不同历史时期，教育的性质、目的、内容等都可能各不相同。阶级性是教育的历史性在阶级社会中的必然反映。
③教育具有相对独立性。具体表现在：教育具有自身的继承关系；教育要受其他社会意识形态的影响；教育与社会政治经济发展不平衡。不能将其独立性绝对化。
●教育的发展
①原始社会的教育概况。教育的社会性和无阶级性；教育和社会生活、生产劳动融合在一起；言传身教和模仿是主要的教育手段。
②古代社会的教育，包括奴隶社会和封建社会教育。
我国奴隶社会学校名称――序、校等，教育内容是六艺――礼、乐、射、御、书、数；我国奴隶社会的学校教育鄙视和脱离生产劳动。
