in case 通常用作连词,表示目的或条件,意为万一,以防万一,假使,以防等含义,在意为假使、以防万一时,通常使用in case+主语+should+动词原形的结构,句中should通常不省略,in case中也可不使用虚拟语气,而用陈述语气。in case做副词时不用虚拟语气。
例句1:He took his raincoat with him in case it should 。句中的in case 做连词,表虚拟
例句2:I'm sure Harry will remember,but why not give him a ring just in case?句中的in case做副词,不表虚拟

cater for是承办、供应的意思,例如:承办宴席:cater for a banquet。
cater to 是满足、迎合的意思,例如:满足他的需要:cater to the needs of his.

glare是"怒视",表示愤怒地看;
stare表示一般意义上的盯着看,看得比较仔细,有时候也带有吃惊的意味去看,常于at,into等介词连用,;
gaze有盯着看的意思,多用于近视眼的人看东西的那种,比较滑稽.
