Abstract: The development process of cold and hold roll materials, the types and chem position of high speed steel roll
as well as the p roducing technology and heat treatment of high speed steel were reviewed. It was point out that high speed
steel has a big market in roll field, so that we must pay attention to this problem. In addition, for improving the quality of high
speed steel roll, the problem of carbide segregation and heat treatment of high speed steel must be solved.
