Abstract The expansion valve is replaced by a two-phase ejector to recover the potential energy of the high pressure refrigerant and to increase the coefficient of performance in the two-phase ejector refrigeration cycle. The numerical simulation of the two-phase flow fluid inside the ejector was carried out by CFX software. The effects of the throat diameter of the nozzle and the diameter of the mixing chamber on the performance of the ejector were analyzed. According to the numerical simulation results, the ejector prototypes were manufactured. The performance of the ejector prototypes were measured on the two-phase ejector refrigeration cycle test-setup. The experimental and numerical simulation results show that the entrainment ra
