System software is the part of puter system that makes the puting power provided by the hardware convenient for the user and efficient for the owner.
System software is software that basically makes puter work.
System software is not a single program. System software is usually divided into four categories:
Operating system.
Utility software.
Device drivers.
Language translators.

An operating system is an interface between hardware and user; it is responsible for the management and coordination of activities and the sharing of the limited resources of puter.
