Abstract The future munication system is designed to be much more powerful than the third generation will work at a data rate of 100Mbps ove a 20M herts channel band it is a huge challenge to solve the inconsistency between the reliability and the super-high spectrum efficiency. Low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes which is a class of linear block codes, specified by a sparse parity-check matrix. It may approach the Shannon limit when uses the belief propagation (BP) iterative decoding algorithm, which makes the plexity is linear to the codes length, so that the application of long block codes es true. Besides, good codes which plexity is linear to the length have searched. LDPC codes can improve the transmitted reliability in narrowband ,LDPC is ing a petition with the ess in the fields of munication,munication and storage industry. In this thesis,the basis munication and channel coding theory is introduced the definition of LDPC code,the encoding and decoding algorithms,also the performance analysis of decoding algorithms,are studied,with a theoretic analysis and an experimental simulation. Lastly, the efficient encoding problem of LDPC codes is mentioned and an improved scheme about concatenated LDPC and Turbo codes is codes can be encoded and decoded at the same time in the realization of this scheme has plexity and short also can be a good choice to get good performance at low and high SNR the same time,the application of LDPC codes are studied.
