TrophicStructureoftheMajorSpeciesintheJiaozhouBayConsideredthroughStable-,,stableisotope(.,carbonandnitrogen)eapowerfultoolforstudyingfoodwebsinrivers,floodplains,saltmarshes,,stableisotopeanalyseswereemployedtoexplorethetrophicspectrumoffoodwebinJiaozhouBay,(includingphytoplankton,zooplanktonsoffoursizes),29invertebrates(includingdecapoda,brachyuran,cephalopod,bivalve,gastropodandpolychaete)%ofthetotalbiomassofthecatches,(δ13Candδ15N)ofthesespeciesweremeasuredbyisotoperatiomassspectrometer(IRMS,Isoprime;GV,Manchester,UK).Theresultsshowedthatδ13CvaluesforthesespeciesinJiaozhouBayrangedfrom-‰to-‰,withthehighest13C-enrichedvaluesexhibitedbyPortunustrituberculatusandthelowestoneby300~‰‰,withthehighest15N--±‰±‰,,themajorspeciesoffoodwebinJiaozhouBaywereclassifiedintofourtrophicgroups:primaryproducers(phytoplankton),primaryconsumers(zooplankton),secondaryconsumers(PhilineKinglippiniandtwofishes-AmmodytespersonatusandSyngnathusacus),toppredators(otherinvertebratesandfishes).Basedonthe15Nenrichmentpertrophiclevel(△δ15N),,withthelowesttrophiclevelofphytoplankton()().Trophiclevelsestimatedfromnitrogenstableisotoperatios(TLN)paredwiththoseestimatedbystomachconten
