————浅谈中西方美学

摘要
公元前6—前5世纪,在辽阔的欧亚大陆遥相对应的东西两端,在阡陌纵横的黄河流域和波光帆影的地中海沿岸,同时有人类早期美学思想两朵灿烂的火花在生动地活跃。中国古代美学思想的开山祖师孔子(公元前551—前479)和西方美学传统的奠基者毕达哥拉斯(公元前580—前500),这两个几乎生活在同一纬度上的同时代人也许怎么也不会想到,他们所提出的美学观点将从两个不同的方向照亮人类美学思想的漫漫旅程,而只有当这两道光芒融为一体的时候,美的世界才会普照着理性的太阳。
但是,相传是女娲氏用黄土所造出来的东方人和自认为是从海水中衍生出来的西方人是何等的不同啊!仿佛命中注定要走上不同的美学道路一样,东西两方从一开始就站到了不同的起跑线上。东方礼仪之邦的美善同源思想铸造出中华民族重人情、重感受的温厚淡雅的鉴赏情趣,西方智术之乡的美智合一原则熏陶了希腊民族重理智、重思辨的高贵静穆的审美遗风。中西美学思想的这种差异早在它们的奠基人孔子和毕达哥拉斯之前就已经初见端倪了。据记载,春秋时期的伍举在对楚灵王的讽谏中就已提出:“夫美也者,上下,内外,大小,远近皆无害焉,故曰美”;而古希腊第一位哲学家泰勒斯已劝导人们:“去找出一件唯一智慧的东西吧,去选择一件唯一美好的东西吧!”中西美学思想可谓是源远而流长。
