ABSTRACT
Resistance spot welding (RSW) technology is the most dominating jointing and assembly method in auto body manufacturing process. Quality of spot welds not only has a significant effect on assembly variation, but determines reliability and safety of car. In order to get rid of the disadvantage of traditional post-welding quality examination, this dissertation adopts the welding quality on-line monitoring based on thermal expansion electrode displacement method.
