Using Ansoft HFSS wave equation are deduced by solving Maxwell equation in differential form. These expressions can be used only when the field vectors and their derivatives are all single valued, bounded and continuously distributed along the space. In the boundary and field source, the field is not continuous, derivative field es meaningless. Therefore, the boundary conditions determine the properties across discontinuous boundary field.
As a Ansoft HSS user you must always realize field assumptions determined by boundary conditions. Because the boundary conditions have constraints on the field, we can determine which boundary conditions are appropriate for the simulation.
