Abstract: Classical electrodes for lithium-ion batteries work through via an insertion/de-insertion process. Recently, metal
hydride electrodes have attracted attention owing to petitively theoretical capacities in a potential window of ~
V vs. Li+/Li and the lowest polarization among conversion electrodes which have shown the capability of greater capacity.
This review here describes some recent developments in the discovery of metal hydride anodes for lithium-ion batteries and
presents their electrochemical reactivity with Li. The characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of metal hydride anodes
for lithium-ion batteries are highlighted.
