《野性的呼唤》中的对话分析
摘要:格赖斯的合作原则是指对话者为了更好地了解对方说话的含义,避免误会所要遵循的一系列规则。合作原则包括四项原则:质准则、量准则、关系准则和方式准则。
格赖斯所描绘的是理想的会话交流,但是在现实生活中人们会有一些复杂的对话,迫使大家违背这些准则,我们称之为合作原则的违背。不同的场合会有不同的答复,同样也运用到文学作品中的对话分析。这篇论文主要从合作的原则分析《野性的呼唤》中的对话,并通过分析了解当时的社会背景及主人翁的多重性格是如何练就的。
众所周知,这部著作的主人翁有一点特别,因为它是一条狗。作者杰克•伦敦是以第三人称的角度来描写的,非常有创意。其中人们的对话将会集中体现出主人翁的真实想法和悲惨境遇,所以分析这些对话能够更好的理解这本书。
这篇论文分为三个部分:第一部分是文献综述,包括合作原则的认识和对这本书的回顾两点;第二部分集中在具体的举例分析是如何违反合作原则的;第三部分则是结尾。

On the Analysis of the Conversation in The Call of the Wild
Abstract
According to Grice’s theory , cooperative principles are a set of rules that speakers should observe if the speakers hope to understand each other better and avoid misunderstanding in the conversations. Cooperative principles include four categories: the maxim of quality, the maxim of quantity, the maxim of relation and the maxim of manner.
What Grice described are ideal exchanges. However, in real life, people tend to move into plex conversations which lead people to disabey the principles which is called the contravention. Different situations cause different responses. It is also used in dialogues in the literature works. This text will focus on The Call of the Wild to analyze through these rules.
It is well-kown that the hero of this book is a little bit different. Because he is a dog,the author write with a third-person method, which is really innovative. Therefore, there are many dialogues of those human beings which reveal a lot of true feelings of the hero. It is worth analyzing them to discover the social background and the hero’s multiple characteristics.
