[摘要] 海上船舶运输承担着80%以上的国际贸易运量,而船舶在航经一些海峡、港口时不得不经过一些比较狭窄的航道。狭水道航行难道较大,易受风、流、岸壁效应、浅水效应等因素的影响,航行事故多发,严重影响海上运输业发展和海洋环境保护。
本文通过阐述狭水道的含义,分析狭水道的航行特点,联系《1972年国际海上避碰规则》,结合研究狭水道船舶碰撞事故,明确船舶在进入狭水道航行前应做的的准备,探讨狭水道航行中的导航、避险、转向方法。

狭水道的定义
狭水道(Narrow Channel),通常是指可航水域的宽度狭窄,船舶操纵会受到一定限制的通航水域。实际上,究竟可航水域的宽度为多少才应该被认为属于狭水道,很难给出具体的量化,多年以来国际也没有具体统一的标准。国际上****惯将宽度2海里以内的水道看成是狭水道,但宽度为4海里的水道却很难再被认为是狭水道。随着船舶朝着快速化、大型化的方向发展,船舶排水量不断增大,船舶的交通密度不断增加,狭水道的概念也将发生变化,以适应船舶安全航行的需要。在《国际海上避碰规则》中,判定
