Task Preparation
The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of subordinate likeability on overall performance ratings in a setting with a large number of performance measures.
As expected, the researchers found subordinate likeability influenced evaluators’ judgments when the performance measurement instrument was unstructured. Unexpectedly, the influence of subordinate likeability was not lessened when a BSC was used to structure performance measures.
