Compare the advantages and disadvantages of industrial cold roll steel, this experiment selects Cr5 steel as the research of samples after heat pretreatment before and after study, temperature quenching of different samples, through metallographic analysis and hardness testing, 950 ℃ oil quenching can achieve the highest hardness, hardness value is observed metallographic reaching maximum hardness corresponding cryptocrystalline martensite, in addition toa small amount of retained austenite and the quenching temperature continues to rise, the trend of grain will grow tempering temperature which increases can result to the reduction of roller steel hardness, but after average temperature tempering the hardness don ’t decreases very much ,the hardness value varies between 51~57HRC,it meets the cold mill intermediate roll hardness the 360 ℃ tempering temperature, the hardness value is , carbide particle size and uniformity are very high,and the plasticity, toughness, wear resistance reaches a very high level .
