As a result, more andmore elderly people live separately with their children, and thus appears anew social group which we called ‘Living-alone Elderly’. As an undoubtedlyvulnerable group, the Living-alone Elderly need more concern and care-taking by their families and the society both medically and mentally, and bythe rapid growth, they also draw more and more attentions for their live-qualities. On the one hand, for the lack of family concerns, the Living-aloneElderly need more social help, and to take effective measures to solve theirproblems in the daily lives. On the other hand, the domestic and foreignaging services practice has showed that it is helpful for the Living-aloneElderly to establish a nearby and munity aging servicessystem including life care-taking, medical and health care and psychologicalcaring. Therefore, it is of great significance to make a scientific research onhow to improve the munity aging services system and construct anew one that exactly meet the needs of Living-alone an analysis of munity aging services system, this thesis,firstly, takes Maslow’s ‘Hierarchy of Needs’ and the Welfare Pluralism as itstheoretical basis and the need survey of Living-alone Elderly by ChangningDistrict, Shanghai as the empirical example. Then, from the view of need andsupply, the thesis analyzes the status quo and problems of the munity aging services system, especially within the domain of life care-taking, medical and health care and psychological caring for the Living-aloneElderly. Last but not least, it is suggested in the thesis, on the basis ofresearch and practice of domestic and munity aging
