 中间站在同一线路两端禁止相对方向同时进行调车作业(包括手推调车)。编组、区段站需要在同一线路两端相对方向同时进行作业时，应制定作业办法和安全措施并纳入《站细》。 
第59条 调车作业中要道还道的规定(《技规》第229条) 一、执行要道还道制度的基本规定 
，由司机负责要道；推进车辆运行时，由调车组人员负责要道。要道信号：司机为两短一长声；调车人员为进出股道的股道号码信号。还道人员将进路准备妥当、确认无误后，先显示股道号码信号，再显示道岔开通信号。未得到还道人员的股道号码信号和道岔开通信号，在警冲标、尖轨或调车信号机前必须停车，与其距离不足50m时不准动车(列检设置防护信号需到达机车移动时除外)。 
，司机或调车组人员向最近端扳道员要道，扳道员间依次由近及远向后一扳道员要道；还道时，由最远端扳道员开始，由远及近依次向前一扳道员还道,最后由最近端扳道员向司机或调车组人员还道。

二、非集中联锁区调车作业要道还道的规定 
(含由集中区向非集中区运行时)，必须执行“进要进路、出要出路”的钩钩要道还道制度(驼峰作业和连续溜放除外)。 
，有关人员必须确认该进路开通正确后，方准越过。运行中确认有困难时，必须在道岔前停车确认。
