英语中对表达效果产生影响的语音因素:
重音(stress),音长(length),语调(intonation)。

英汉语言词汇与语音之和谐
Words have weight, sound and appearance; it’s only considering these that you can write a sentence that is good to look at and good to listen to.
例1. 船摇晃,颠簸;一会儿翘起尾,一会又昂起头;辗转滚动,呼号呻吟。我们在舱面时,就得抓住东西;我们到舱下去,就得紧贴着床铺,时时刻刻提心吊胆,全身紧张。
例2. She tossed, she pitched, she stood on her head, she sat on her tail, she rolled, she groaned, and we had to hold on while on deck and cling to our bunks when below, in a constant, effort of body and worry of mind.
